This site is dedicated to the memory of Yvonne Kearney.

Yvonne Kearney was born in Crayford, Kent on November 11, 1958. Yvonne died on the 28th April 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Yvonne died with great dignity surrounded by her family. Yvonne fought her cancer over the last five years. She bore her suffering with great strength and dignity. Over the last year after additional surgery Yvonne's strength declined but she continued to function as a wife and mother. Yvonne was admitted to hospital in March and continued to fight never giving up. Yvonne was transferred to Pilgrims Hospice a couple of days before she died. She will be missed by all who knew her. As a family we pay tribute to the many teams of NHS staff who over the years fought along side her to try and improve her quality of life. We pay a special tribute to Cannon David Caine and all the staff and volunteers at Pilgrims Hospice who made her lasts days and hours of her life peaceful and bearable. She is at peace now with no pain, no more chemotherapy or surgery. We wish not to mourn Yvonne but to celebrate her life. Yvonne touched so many people's lives in so many ways. If you knew Yvonne please share with us your memories of her so we all can share this over the years to come.
Edward, Rebecca, Phillip and Nicholas.

There are so many thoughts that we have about Yvonne that it’s difficult to know where to start. We have had the privilege of knowing Yvonne since she met my brother Edward. We know something of the amazing, solid and faithful love that they shared. Together their love brought three beautiful children that they were so deservedly proud of. We enjoyed their holidays to Ireland and we shared many happy times when all of our kids got to know each other. She not only shared her love and caring with Edward and the children but in the last few years especially, since her illness started, she has been an example to all of us of the incredible resilience, sheer determination and positivity of which the human spirit is capable. Even at very difficult times in her illness we would hear that she was back out playing tennis or that she was able to re-join her music group and share her gift of music with others. What a legacy she has left after her. What an example she has given us in how she lived her “all too short life” to the full. Sadly we won’t be able to share her physical presence anymore but we will still know of her love in our hearts. Love never dies, love lasts for ever. Until we meet again Yvonne… Cathal, Jo, Mark and Bláthnaid
